Nickely Burke
Meet Nickely!
Australian-born Nickely lived in the UK for over 20 years where she founded Oxford Contemporary Dance School and later co-founded Biserk Dance Company with Sarah Bishop. The company performed and toured the UK from 1994 – 2011, and created many education and choreographic projects alongside the touring repertoire.
Nickely was Dance Lecturer at Abingdon College for 10 years, in addition to managing several youth dance groups in the southern region of England. As an independent Dance Artist, Nickey was commissioned to choreograph original work, in addition to the Biserk pieces. More recently Nickely has been contemporary dance teacher and Manager for Melbourne Conservatoire of Ballet and before that, The Australian Conservatoire of Ballet.
Since arrival in Australia, Nickely has been contemporary dance teacher at BDC Dance Studios based in Ashwood.
In addition to having achieved a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication & Media, Nickely has a Diploma of Dance from Trinity College, London and a TAE qualification in Teaching & Assessment with registered training organisations.
